Finance
The Finance department monitors all expenditures to maintain budgetary compliance for all departments and availability of funds.

Grants
The Grants Department is responsible for developing the filing policies and paperwork procedures in order to meet the deadlines and requirements set by the Funders.

Harbor
The Board employs a full time Harbor Master to manage the day to day operations. A seven member commission, appointed by the Board, helps directs the Harbor’s future planning.

Human Resources
Whether we are hiring an employee or an employee is retiring, the County’s Human Resources (HR) Department is involved.

Information Systems
The informations systems departments consists of two divisions - Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Information Technology (IT). Both divisions provide personalized technical support to various county offices that deliver day to day services to the citizens of Jackson County.

Mosquito Control
Mosquito suppression is far more than a convenience; it is a vital health and safety service the Board of Supervisors provides throughout the entire county and all four cities.

Planning
The Planning Department staff handles a wide range of activities and serves property owners in the unincorporated areas of the County. They handle everything from building permits to zoning administration and provide information on this site to better aid you in finding what you need.

Public Safety
Jackson County officials are committed to providing the highest standard of public safety for its residents. Along with the Sheriff's Department and District Attorney, the following departments are also responsible for providing safety related services to the County such as E-911, Emergency Management and Fire Protection.

The Purchasing Department is staffed by four procurement professionals who are committed to timely acquisition of quality products and services required to support the county's needs.

Recreation
Our County’s Recreation Department is one of the largest and most diverse in Mississippi. Facilities include a golf course, three beaches, 12 community parks, two multi-purpose arenas, 62 lighted fields, 20 tennis courts, 15 playgrounds, 10 walking tracks, 21 public boat ramps and piers, and much more.

The Jackson County Road Department is in a never ending road race to maintain, replace, or build new road ways throughout the County.

Solid Waste
Our environment is negatively affected by improper disposal of or mishandling of hazardous and medical waste as well as rubbish that could be taken to a landfill. Jackson County asks our residents to help us keep our environment beautiful by disposing of waste properly and contacting the appropriate organizations.

Tax Assessor
The Jackson County Assessor's Office is made up of the following departments: Real Property Appraisal, Personal Property (Business), and Homestead.

Tax Collector
The Tax Collector is required to submit a budget of his office's estimated expenses for the next fiscal year at the July meeting of the Board of Supervisors.

The Jackson County Veterans Services Office provides assistance to military veterans and family members in obtaining their benefits.
