To be placed on the Jackson County Planning Commission's agenda, a hearing application must be submitted with all required documents by the above deadline dates.
The Planning Commission is strictly a recommending body. All recommendations made by the Commission will be presented to the Jackson County Board of Supervisors for it's action at their next meeting, typically held the first Monday of the following month.

Seven Jackson County residents are appointed to the Planning Commission by the Board of Supervisors. Each supervisor appoints at least one member. Two “At-Large” positions are appointed by District 1 and District 5. Each commission member serves a four year term which runs concurrent with the Board’s term. The Planning Commission meets at least once a month and passes their recommendations along to the Board of Supervisors for approval.
Overview
The Planning Commission recommends interim or short term measures to ensure a systematic and comprehensive expansion of Jackson County's social, economic and physical development. The Commission uses a long range blueprint that guides growth and development decisions in the unincorporated areas. The plan focuses on land regulations for the long-term benefit of the public health, convenience, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of Jackson County.
