Press Release: "Santa Wears A Badge" Ramps Up

Sheriff Jackson County MS

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Wears a Badge program is underway. After Monday’s (November 12) announcement by Toys for Tots that it will not include Jackson County this year in its toy distribution, we are stepping up our efforts to make sure the less fortunate children of our community find presents under their Christmas tree.

Referrals for assistance are received from schools, churches, civic and professional organizations, and first responders. Here are the qualifications for assistance:

The family must live in Jackson County

The children must be between newborn and 12 years of age

The applicant should not be registered for assistance with any other program or agency

Any business or organization that would like to place a “Santa Wears a Badge” donation box at their location, or donate gifts, you can contact Connie Bosarge at (228) 623-0659. Please leave a detailed message.

You can also drop off unwrapped gifts at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center or the sheriff's lobby on the ground floor of the courthouse.

Many thanks to those businesses and individuals who have already helped us bring a Merry Christmas to Jackson County kids.
