Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) offenses against person and/or property within the ethical and professional standards of the law by performing crime scene investigations to:

  • Conducting Surveillance to Gather Evidence
  • Gather Evidence
  • Gathering Intelligence and Research
  • Identifying and Recovering Stolen Property
  • Interviews of Victims and/or Witnesses
  • Maintaining a Cooperative Working Relationship with Other Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Making Arrests
  • Preparing Clear, Concise and Accurate Investigative Documentation to Ensure Successful Prosecutions
  • Suspect Identification
  • Testifying in Court

Responsibilities

CID is the responsible for investigating a wide range of criminal activity such as:

  • Battery
  • Sexual Assault
  • Theft
  • Violent Crimes
  • Weapon Offenses

Duties

Their duties require a high level of professionalism, decorum and confidentiality, and skills in interviewing, surveillance, evidence preservation and crime scene management.

Support Services

In addition to criminal investigation, this division also provides support services such as maintaining records, running background checks, and tracking evidence.
